📋 Description

• Lead the accounting function and ensure accurate books and a timely, consistent close • Oversee financial statements, accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, revenue recognition, treasury, tax, and audit • Own and improve the NetSuite, Orb, and Ramp systems stack and ensure data integrity across integrations • Assess workflows and implement practical systems automation and AI-enabled processes • Build scalable processes and controls supporting growth, including SOC 2 and audit readiness • Navigate accounting for usage-based contracts, including commitments, overages, and billing in arrears • Review SaaS and usage-based customer contracts for ASC 606 revenue recognition impacts • Partner with Legal and Sales on revenue-recognition-sensitive terms • Lead and develop the accounting team and determine the most effective reporting structure • Partner with FP&A, Legal, Revenue Operations, Business Operations, and other teams • Own the annual financial statement audit and tax examinations • Coordinate with external auditors and tax advisors • Oversee corporate tax compliance filings • Modernize accounting systems, processes, and team practices using automation and AI

🎯 Requirements

• Active CPA certification • Accounting leadership and people-management experience • Experience owning a broad accounting function rather than a narrow specialty • SaaS accounting experience • Demonstrated success in implementing systems and process automation • Hands-on experience using AI tools (e.g., Claude, Gemini) or AI-enabled workflows to improve accounting operations • Strong knowledge of close management, financial reporting, revenue recognition (including ASC 606), and core accounting operations • Ability to think quickly, operate autonomously, and work effectively in a fast-paced environment • Strong cross-functional communication and collaboration skills • Experience in fintech or payments • Experience with usage-based or consumption-based business models • Experience in a startup, SMB, or mid-market environment with broad accounting responsibility • Big Four experience combined with hands-on ownership of accounting systems, processes, or team development • Direct experience with Orb, Chargebee, or another usage-based billing platform • Direct experience with Ramp or a similar T&E/spend management platform
