• Design, develop, test, and deploy custom middleware solutions, integration proxies, protocol translators, and adapter components • Engineer custom connectors, REST and SOAP APIs, scripts, and integration libraries connecting non-standard applications to Okta and SailPoint IdentityIQ • Analyze legacy application architectures, authentication mechanisms, and data flows to design integration approaches using SAML, OAuth 2.0, OIDC, and SCIM • Develop reusable integration libraries, sample code repositories, and middleware components • Collaborate with migration engineers, platform engineers, team leads, and application owners on integration requirements and technical solutions • Provide middleware feasibility assessments and document integration pathways, risk registers, and gap analyses • Advise application owners on middleware architecture and troubleshoot application-side integration failures • Develop automated provisioning and deprovisioning workflows, SCIM endpoints, directory synchronization scripts, and lifecycle management hooks • Implement RBAC and ABAC solutions, attribute mapping logic, claims transformation middleware, and authorization policy enforcement components • Contribute reusable components to self-service and automated enablement tooling • Conduct unit, integration, and security testing before deployment • Support test plan development, technical integration tests, UAT events, defect diagnosis, and resolution • Ensure compliance with DFARS 239.73 supply chain risk management requirements and vet third-party dependencies • Produce and maintain architecture diagrams, data flow diagrams, API specifications, deployment guides, and operational runbooks • Contribute to middleware engineering standards, coding best practices, reusable component libraries, and integration playbooks • Ensure solutions comply with Section 508 and DoD security requirements, including CUI handling, OPSEC, and DFARS 252.204-7012 • Maintain knowledge of middleware technologies, identity integration patterns, and DoD Zero Trust requirements
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a related field from an accredited college or university • Minimum of 5 years of hands-on software or systems engineering experience, including at least 3 years of direct experience in middleware development, API engineering, or enterprise application integration • Experience designing and developing custom integration solutions, including REST APIs, SOAP web services, protocol adapters, or middleware components in a production enterprise environment • Experience integrating applications with enterprise identity platforms using SAML, OAuth 2.0, OIDC, or SCIM • Active Secret clearance • Ability to satisfy requirements for CAC-card issuance and NIPRNet access • Annual DoD CyberAwareness training and certification • Strong proficiency in one or more of Java, Python, JavaScript, Node.js, C#, or PowerShell • Hands-on experience developing and consuming REST APIs and SOAP web services • Practical implementation experience with SAML 2.0, OAuth 2.0, OIDC, and SCIM • Experience analyzing and reverse-engineering legacy application authentication and authorization mechanisms • Familiarity with Okta and SailPoint IdentityIQ, including integration APIs and connector frameworks • Experience with LDAP, Active Directory, and SCIM-based directory synchronization • Proficiency with Git, including branching strategies, code review processes, and collaborative development workflows • Experience implementing secure coding practices • Ability to conduct unit testing, integration testing, and security-focused code reviews • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills • Strong technical documentation skills • Familiarity with DoD security requirements, including CUI handling, OPSEC, DFARS 252.204-7012, DFARS 239.73, and DoDM 8140.03 • Strong written and oral communication skills in English • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative cross-functional team • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Microsoft Teams • Ability to obtain and maintain required DoD cybersecurity certifications per DoDM 8140.03, such as Security+ for IAT II or equivalent • Occasional travel to Government facilities may be required
