📋 Description

• Provide fractional/interim CFO consulting services to clients as a Kranz Consulting employee • Report to and take direction from the Emerging Growth Practice Leader • Act as primary client contact on consulting engagements • Maintain an average 65–70% billable utilization while pursuing business development • Manage client accounting, finance, treasury, and systems functions • Prospect new business and attend prospective-client meetings to architect solutions • Assist with onboarding new clients • Perform quality assurance on internal work product before client delivery • Coordinate specialist resources including tax, legal, and benefits • Oversee accounting teams, close, consolidations, controllership, and accounting efficiency • Develop and communicate GAAP policies and transition roadmaps • Prepare, maintain, report, and present financial statements, reconciliations, footnotes, and disclosures • Review complex journal entries, account analyses, and monthly financial statements • Ensure billing, invoicing, revenue recognition, ASC 606, and lease accounting under ASC 842 compliance • Manage government reporting, sales and use tax filings, registrations, and franchise tax matters • Prepare and present financial information to investors and Audit Committees • Research and resolve complex accounting issues • Provide strategic financial analysis and guidance to client leadership • Develop key metrics and dashboards, including SaaS revenue models • Support budgeting, forecasting, planning, variance analysis, and business-plan monitoring • Ensure monthly reporting for executives, stakeholders, and Boards of Directors • Support fundraising, transactions, liquidity events, and other strategic events • Design and maintain robust business analytics reporting processes and systems • Lead investor reporting • Manage cash records, reconciliations, cash forecasts, banking relationships, debt coverage, insurance, and treasury matters • Monitor subsidiary ledgers, collections, foreign currencies, and regulatory compliance • Review major contracts for completeness and risk-management issues • Maintain stock registers, record equity activity, and support ISO/NSO tax compliance and 409A valuations • Manage client accounting-system integrations with business systems and applications • Architect solutions and onboard clients based on approved proposals

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree required; MBA / CPA preferred • Proven experience in a CFO-level role in a for-profit company • Minimum of 10 years of accounting and finance experience • 5 years of managerial experience leading accounting teams in a global company • 3+ years of experience at a public company • Experience working with fast-growth, rapidly changing, fast-paced companies with multiple priorities and deadlines • Strong understanding of GAAP and current revenue recognition and financial reporting trends • Strong skills in Microsoft and Google suites • Proficiency in complex accounting systems • Experience across a wide variety of industries • Experience negotiating supplier and customer contracts, including software license and purchase agreements • Demonstrated consulting, client relationship, and project management experience • Demonstrated leadership and effective management in a growing professional services organization • Ability to execute in high-pressure and fast-paced environments • Ability to adapt to unexpected changes in timelines, deadlines, and scope • High-level integrity, creativity, sound business judgment, and ability to gain senior management’s respect • Excellent interpersonal, communication, organizational, and leadership skills • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States • Prior ERP implementation experience highly preferred
