• Configure, install, maintain, and optimize database management systems • Manage user access and implement security policies and procedures • Conduct capacity planning and growth projections based on usage • Coordinate systematic database project plans with various teams • Propose and implement enhancements to improve system performance and reliability • Develop backup and recovery plans • Support end users and application developers with complex database-system problems • Resolve incidents and problems according to customer service-level requirements • Execute DB utilities, including Reorg, Runstats, Copy, Load, Unload, Modify, Check, Recover, and Rebuild • Execute DB2 commands, including Stop, Start, Display, and Cancel • Resolve problems, document solutions, and implement changes • Manage DB2 security using RACF, grants, revokes, roles, and privileges
• z/OS DB2 V12 and V13 Database Administrator experience • Understanding of Structured Query Language (SQL), DB2 performance tuning, Database Definition Language (DDL), and DB2 utilities • Ability to follow processes for Change, Incident, Problem, Availability, Service Level, and Capacity Management • Working knowledge of DB2 database backup and recovery • Ability to review logical design and provide recommendations • Ability to transform logical design models into physical designs • Ability to design and prepare application database changes • Willingness to provide rotational 24 x 7 on-call support for the production environment • At least 3 years of experience with DB2 V12 and DB2 V13 • At least 3 years of experience with z/OS, JCL, TSO/ISPF, and DB2 Utilities • At least 3 years of experience executing DDL • At least 3 years of experience in Capacity / Performance Management • At least 3 years of experience with DB2 Backup / Recovery • At least 3 years of experience applying problem-solving techniques • At least 3 years of experience in database monitoring • At least 3 years of experience in database maintenance and administration • Fluent English
