📋 Description

• Determine specimen acceptability for testing according to established criteria • Perform routine and complex technical procedures according to departmental Standard Operating Procedures • Monitor, operate, and troubleshoot instrumentation • Make technical decisions regarding testing and problem solving • Prepare, test, and evaluate new reagents or controls • Report accurate and timely test results to support quality patient care • Perform and document preventive maintenance and quality control procedures

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical or Biological Science, Clinical Laboratory Science, or Medical Technology • 4 years or more of cytogenetics testing experience • Non-traditional degrees with applicable science credits meeting CLIA standards may satisfy education requirements in lieu of the listed education • Understanding of laboratory operations, policies, and procedures • Experience in a high-volume laboratory environment • Ability to work independently and within a team environment • Proficiency with computers and familiarity with laboratory information systems • Strong attention to detail, communication, and organizational skills • Ability to handle the physical requirements of the position • Ability to pass a standardized color blindness test • Flexibility to work overtime or other shifts depending on business needs • Dedicated, private home office meeting HIPAA compliance requirements • Agreement to have home address added to reports of analyzed or reported cases, as required by CMS • Wired or wireless internet with minimum speed of 100 Mb/sec • Ability to work remotely effectively in a fast-paced, multi-site environment • Preferred: NCA Cytogenetics (CLSp-CG) certification • Preferred: ASCP or AMT certification
