📋 Description

• Oversee and direct all legal decisions for client cases reaching litigation status • Ensure the Litigation Team timely answers and returns client calls • Take timely action regarding litigation cases • Immediately document all available data in case files • Direct legal decisions throughout all phases of litigation • Determine applicability of laws and statutes to potential case recovery • Communicate with clients, insurance adjusters, and medical providers • Resolve cases efficiently and pursue the highest possible settlements • Negotiate personal injury settlements • Depose parties and fact and expert witnesses • Pursue advantageous litigation tactics for settlement or trial • Draft and argue motions • Attend mediation • Make court appearances on behalf of the firm • Prepare for and attend trial as first or second chair, as appropriate • Ensure compliance with State Bar of Texas legal and ethical requirements

🎯 Requirements

• Licensed to practice law in the State of Texas • 3 to 5 years of litigation and trial experience in Texas personal injury cases • 2nd Chair Experience required • 1st Chair Experience preferred • Experience handling contested motions • Experience taking and defending depositions of parties and experts • Experience at mediation in personal injury cases • Willingness to work a pre-litigation caseload while building a full litigation docket • Computer literate and familiar with document drafting and e-filing • Light travel throughout Texas • Excellent written and verbal communication • Efficient and effective overall time management • Determined to learn and adapt in a high-paced atmosphere • Able to multitask and handle a high-volume litigation docket • Detail-oriented, strategic thinker, and aggressive advocate • Bilingual English and Spanish preferred, but not required
