• Research, prepare documentation, and acquire municipal and agency permits for proposed cable and fiber optics network installations • Prepare permit application packages for local governments, jurisdictions, and governing agencies • Develop and maintain relationships with municipalities and governing bodies to obtain permitting and zoning approvals • Resolve permitting issues to meet project deliverables • Collaborate with project teams to gather information and identify permitting requirements • Develop solutions for anticipated challenges • Inform project teams about government and municipal requirements and regulations during approval and construction • Serve as subject matter expert on local municipal and state codes • Coordinate and track permit applications and compliance through approval and construction phases • Oversee document control and customer requirement compliance • Perform other directed responsibilities
• 2 to 4 years of permitting experience within Telecommunications, Outside Plant or Field Operations • Previous experience submitting permit packages for Telecom, Power, Gas, Construction and/or other utility projects • Understanding of outside plant design principles, work order procedures, and telecommunication standards • Knowledge of local authority regulations and requirements • Familiarity with DOT/Federal/County regulations preferred • Strong computer background, including MS Word, Excel, and scheduling software • Familiarity with Quick Base preferred • Strong communication skills and confidence interacting with key contacts verbally, in writing, and electronically • Capable of responding to project stakeholder requests in typical situations and understanding client needs • Ability to show proof of eligibility to work in the United States
