📋 Description

• Provide technical support for the development, test, deployment, sustainment, and quality assurance of a complex telecommunication system • Conduct site surveys and assist with designing installation packages • Conduct equipment and cable installations, administer configurations, provide technical assistance, support commissioning testing, troubleshoot, and resolve network element issues • Assist with development of method of procedures (MOP) • Assist with creation of IBOM, MBOM, and Master TRBOM for site installations • Ensure implementation activities use consistent, proven, and continuously improved processes • Execute TSIP actions to install, integrate, test, activate, and achieve operational readiness • Participate in daily status calls, report accomplishments and project status, identify challenges, and provide projections • Compile information for daily status reports • Conduct site surveys, installations, testing, de-installations, and quality control activities • Perform technically detailed DISN site surveys in CONUS and OCONUS locations to assess site preparedness and develop implementation plans, power requirements, and cost estimates • Conduct installation, de-installation, upgrade, and interface actions for network components at stakeholder locations • Coordinate with users, site/base support, facilities personnel, network managers and controllers, and carriers for installation, cutover, activation, and deactivation planning and execution • Develop Site Survey Reports (SSR) and assist with Site Engineering Solutions (SES) • Assist Logistics with IBOM/MBOM procurement requirements • Configure Cisco, Ciena, and Safenet network elements according to DISA guidelines • Perform hands-on IT&A and quality validation of network components or facilitate remote testing with Operations Engineering • Collaborate with partners on surveys, installations, testing, de-installations, quality control, and customer-ready deliverables • Support senior staff and ensure customer requirements and project milestones are met • Update TSIP packages, including master redline drawings, SES, SSR, 1149, SCL, CLR, and test results • Review project plans, schedules, resources, delivery schedules, estimates, WBS, resource plans, and status reports • Provide technical support to customers and service professionals • Maintain clear and concise oral and written business communications • Travel and work hours outside Monday–Friday as required

🎯 Requirements

• Must have an active Secret security clearance • Experience with surveys, installations, pulling and terminating cable, determining and implementing required pin outs, installing and configuring Ciena equipment, cards, power supplies, racks, patch panels, testing, and documenting installations, dressing, and labeling cables, racks, and patch panels • Knowledge of ANSI/BICSI 002 Data Center Design and Implementation Best Practices • Knowledge of ANSI/BICSI N1 Installation Practices for Telecommunications and ICT Cabling and Related Cabling Infrastructure • Knowledge of ANSI/BICSI N3 Planning and Installation Methods for the Bonding and Grounding of Telecommunication and ICT Systems and Infrastructure • Knowledge of Information Technology Systems Installation Methods Manual (ITSIMM) • Knowledge of Telecommunications Distribution Methods Manual (TDMM) • Ability to perform frequent bending, stooping, twisting, turning, and work in unusual positions requiring full body mobility • Working knowledge of Ciena 6500, Ciena 5160, Ciena 5171, and other ancillary equipment • Experience with DC power systems • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Visio • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with excellent written and oral communication skills • Must be responsive to customer issues and requests and willing and able to travel at short notice • Must be able to lift 50 pounds, climb ladders, and perform installation activities • Experience briefing Government customers and stakeholders • Ability to work in a team-focused, fast-paced, dynamic environment • Ability to travel extensively • Typically requires a BS and 4–8 years of prior relevant experience or a Master’s with 2–6 years of prior relevant experience • Preferred: DoD Directive 8570 IAT Level II certification or higher, such as CompTIA Security+ CE • Preferred: ITIL v3 Foundation Certification • Preferred: BICSI certification • Preferred: Field Service Engineering experience • Preferred: Ciena Certification • Must comply with applicable U.S. export control and security regulations
