📋 Description

• Work independently with moderate supervision or on project teams • Perform calculations applying mechanical engineering principles, procedures, and criteria • Develop analyses and prepare technical reports and other engineering documentation • Develop ship propulsion and auxiliary system calculations and designs • Prepare technical purchase specifications for major equipment • Support engineering activities for main and auxiliary propulsion, fuel, lubrication, seawater, freshwater, heating, ventilating, and air conditioning systems • Support the design, analysis, and integration of marine mechanical systems for naval and maritime platforms • Support ship design, system development, and lifecycle engineering efforts • Travel approximately 10% to support specific customers and contracts

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education in Marine Engineering or Mechanical Engineering • 2+ years of relevant experience • Functional understanding of mechanical systems, thermodynamics, fluid systems, or shipboard systems • Strong written and verbal communication skills • Ability to work effectively in a team environment • Proficiency with CAD and Microsoft Office applications • Must be able to obtain a security clearance • Preferred: career experience in marine, naval, or defense engineering • Preferred: +3 Years of experience with ship design, piping, HVAC, propulsion support, or auxiliary mechanical systems • Preferred: Professional Engineering or Engineer in Training certification in Marine Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or another applicable discipline • Preferred: proficiency in industry-standard computer aided design and engineering analysis software tools • Preferred: exposure to U.S. Navy, shipbuilding, or maritime industry standards
