📋 Description

• Perform design reviews of civil/structural design components in support of bid/construction packages for substation projects • Lead projects as a senior engineer • Perform design reviews of steel structures, concrete structures, foundations, rigid bus, oil spill containment, retaining walls, control shelters, and fire-walls • Develop junior staff members • Design and review structures and foundations under seismic loading conditions • Visit client substation facilities • Travel occasionally for client meetings and industry-related events • Work as a senior member of a design team comprising engineers, designers, and drafting technicians

🎯 Requirements

• 5+ years of experience within the utility industry working directly for a utility or consulting company, doing design engineering and reviews • Strong educational background in design of steel structures, concrete structures, geotechnical engineering, and foundations • Experience reviewing substation structure design, rigid bus design, foundation design, oil spill containment design, retaining walls, concrete and masonry control shelters, and fire-walls • Bachelor's of Science (BS) degree in Civil-Structural Engineering and 5+ years of relevant experience, or Master's (MS) with 3+ years of relevant experience • PE License preferred in California, Washington, Oregon or ability to obtain licensure in these states within 3-12 months • SE licensure preferred • Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and MATHCAD software • Experience with STAAD.Pro, SAP2000, RISA 3D, FAD, SAG10, and LPile software • Familiarity with AutoCAD and MicroStation • Strong analytical and technical writing skills • Ability to communicate with clients and staff • Ability to comply with quality control and safe work practices and maintain compliance with project scope, schedule, and budget expectations
