📋 Description

• Develop new or modify existing electrical layout/plan drawings of substation equipment and structures • Develop substation foundation layout/plan drawings • Produce section/elevation views from layout/plan drawings • Develop conduit layout/plan drawings • Develop substation grounding layout/plan drawings • Develop control building layout/plan and section/elevation drawings • Prepare electrical schematics • Complete electrical wiring design drawings • Develop a complete bill of materials for required electrical equipment and materials • Review and comment on equipment drawings from vendors and manufacturers • Work with other disciplines, such as Civil Engineers, to complete assigned work • Assist the project team with processes and procedures to increase team efficiency • Perform basic engineering calculations to support engineering design • Apply relevant client, national, and state standards to assignments • Provide substation design drawing packages and necessary documents for 12kV to 500kV electric power substations

🎯 Requirements

• Associate's degree in a related field preferred; additional experience will be considered in lieu of degree • 2+ years of direct substation physical and electrical design experience using CAD software on electric utility industry projects • Solid comprehension and application of 2D and 3D design software such as MicroStation and AutoCAD, and Autodesk Inventor 3D w/ SDS • Proficient with Windows-based software such as Word and Excel • Ability to learn and effectively utilize new design software programs • Advanced ability to utilize 2D and 3D applications to prepare engineering drawings • Ability to work in a team environment with Project Managers, Engineers, Designers, and drafters in multi-discipline groups • Experience working on EPC or other design-build Contract types • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills • Strong attention to detail and work product quality
