📋 Description

• Provide transmission planning consulting services as an engineer and project manager according to client needs • Manage complex transmission planning studies independently • Mentor junior staff performing similar studies • Build and maintain client relationships • Assist with expanding the client base and growing Transmission Planning consulting services • Perform transmission planning analyses under senior-engineer direction • Apply QA/QC procedures and incorporate review feedback • Participate in sales and business development activities • Contribute to technical writing of project proposals and responses to industry RFIs and RFPs • Participate and present in industry forums and conferences • Serve municipal utilities, investor-owned utilities, regional planning organizations such as ISOs and RTOs, developers, and independent power producers

🎯 Requirements

• B.S. in Electrical Engineering required with 3+ years of prior relevant experience, or Master's degree with 2+ years of prior relevant experience • Experience in transmission analytics, including load flow studies, stability studies, protection studies, and short circuit studies • Knowledge of power system theories and limitations • Solid understanding of power system analysis concepts, including transmission system planning • Familiarity with NERC reliability standards • Experience with industry analytical tools such as PSS/E, PSLF, PowerGEM TARA, DSA Tools TSAT, PowerWorld, ASPEN, CAPE/APA, EMTP, and PSCAD highly desirable • Experience functioning as both a team member and in a leadership role in transmission studies • Excellent oral and written communication skills • Strong problem-solving ability in team and independent environments • Willingness to travel to project and/or client sites • Understanding of transmission policy and regulatory issues, including FERC Open Access Transmission Tariff, NERC reliability standards, Generator Interconnection Procedures (LGIP and SGIP), and associated study practices is a plus
