📋 Description

• Verify patient medical insurance benefits through phone and online access for private insurance companies, Medicare, and Medicaid • Determine insurance benefit compatibility with LifeStance procedures and visits, including therapy, medication services, and telehealth • Re-verify existing patient insurance coverage and determine whether plans consider selected products appropriate based on patient need • Obtain pre-certification or authorization for procedures and enter it into billing system software • Complete data entry and forms documenting patient benefits coverage • Alert office staff about uninsured or underinsured patients • Provide accurate, detailed insurance benefits information and record it in the billing system • Work escalated accounts to facilitate a smooth billing process • Maintain accurate verification documentation in patient electronic charts • Serve as a resource to other teams regarding patient benefits • Support leadership with daily, weekly, and monthly reporting needs

🎯 Requirements

• High school diploma or GED equivalent required • 1+ year of medical facility or medical office billing experience • Professional experience and understanding of insurance products and coverage types • Experience with automated billing systems preferred • Experience with training in business office activities preferred • Ability to work both in a team environment and independently • Legally authorized to be employed in the United States • Experience working with individuals from diverse ethnic backgrounds, socioeconomic statuses, sexual orientations, gender identities, and other aspects of culture
