📋 Description

• Source new Venture Banking client opportunities • Win opportunities and onboard new relationships under the Managing Director’s direction • Own client relationships throughout the relationship lifecycle • Develop and retain Venture Banking clients, including loan and deposit opportunities • Oversee loan underwriting and origination • Maintain knowledge of the venture capital ecosystem and bank products and services • Present and negotiate term sheets with prospects • Manage final credit and loan document negotiations with teammates and outside counsel • Identify non-lending opportunities through deposit and treasury management platforms • Cross-sell products to existing customers • Lead or support strategic team projects • Address company performance and compliance issues • Manage troubled credits with Credit and SAG when needed • Call on VC firms and portfolio companies, nurture referral relationships, attend networking events, and travel as needed • Keep abreast of economic conditions and VC market trends • Advise on underwriting, lead diligence calls, and take responsibility for final credit materials • Assist with final credit approval packages and present them to credit • Own loan documentation through issuance, negotiation, and finalization • Support the Closer and PA during closing and onboarding • Serve as the primary post-closing contact • Collaborate on portfolio management, conduct client and investor update calls, and identify ways to expand client relationships

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience • Experience underwriting and servicing venture banking-type credits • In-depth knowledge of bank lending policies, procedures, and criteria • High degree of self-motivation, dedication, creativity, and perseverance • Preferred: minimum of 2 years of Venture Banking/VC industry-specific experience • Preferred: additional team and portfolio management experience • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills • Strong financial analysis and modeling skills • Sound judgment • Strong computer skills, including Word and Excel • Maintain regulatory awareness of BSA, AML, CIP, and OFAC
