📋 Description

• Assign and sequence ICD-10-CM and CPT-4 codes for inpatient, outpatient, ambulatory, specialty, and emergency room records • Review medical records for documentation deficiencies and accurately reflect diagnoses and procedures • Review charges, verify accuracy, and check medical necessity for ordered tests and procedures • Communicate with providers, staff, leadership, and hospital departments to ensure adequate documentation • Perform timely follow-up on accounts on hold • Abstract clinical data after documentation assessment and review • Follow coding guidelines and legal requirements for regulatory compliance • Verify patient account, type, and demographic data and coordinate corrections • Ensure accurate billing, reimbursement, and reporting • Meet Revenue Integrity Coding department productivity standards • Support continuous quality improvement efforts • Participate in continuing education activities • Maintain regular and consistent attendance

🎯 Requirements

• At least one year of professional coding work experience • Must hold a nationally recognized coding certificate; CCA, CCS, CPC or AAPC certification required • Knowledge and understanding of ICD 10 CM and CPT 4 coding guidelines and practices • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail • Critical thinking skills and ability to set priorities • Ability to function as part of a team and independently • Commitment to confidentiality • Excellent verbal and written communication skills • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations professionally • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and ability to learn other software • Must reside in Arkansas, Arizona, Colorado, Florida, Hawaii, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Michigan, Missouri, Montana, Minnesota, North Carolina, Ohio, Oregon, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, or Washington • Pre-employment screening, including criminal background check, reference checks, drug screening, health and immunizations screening, and physical demand review/screening
