📋 Description

• Provide CPT, HCPCS, and ICD-10-CM coding across assigned specialties • Perform professional fee cardiothoracic surgery coding • Calculate Professional Fee E/M levels • Code surgical procedures in the cardiothoracic specialty line of services using CPT • Apply ICD-10-CM diagnosis codes to the highest available specificity • Accurately apply ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS, CPT®, and HCPCS codes • Interpret coding guidelines for accurate code assignment • Assess the impact of documentation on code assignment and reimbursement • Follow AHIMA’s Standards of Ethical Coding and the Company’s Code of Ethics and Business Conduct • Comply with internal policies and procedures • Participate in company-provided training and education • Maintain at least one AAPC or AHIMA credential • Protect confidential information and comply with privacy and security regulations • Maintain required productivity, accuracy, and quality standards • Perform other duties assigned by leadership

🎯 Requirements

• Must have Cardio Thoracic Surgery Coding – Professional fee (Profee) experience – 1+ yrs • All coders must be certified through either AAPC (CPC or COC) or AHIMA (CCS or CCS-P) • At least 6 months of on-the-job experience • Regular, predictable, and punctual attendance required • Working knowledge and experience with EMR, billing, and similar systems • Phone, reliable internet connection, and current CPT and ICD-10-CM coding references required • Maintain ongoing productivity and an accuracy rate of 95% or higher • Maintain a quality score of 95% or higher • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Outlook • Ability to communicate effectively and professionally verbally and in writing • Ability to coordinate, analyze, observe, make decisions, and meet deadlines • Ability to work from home independently • Ability to work at a computer terminal for 6–8 hours per day • Ability to lift and move materials weighing up to 20 lbs. infrequently
