LOVB Minnesota is the Minnesota club and market presence of LOVB (League One Volleyball), a national volleyball organization that operates junior clubs, youth tournaments, and a professional pro league launched in 2025. LOVB Minnesota kicked off its inaugural season with a roster combining Minnesota standouts and international players; it sits within a larger network that runs 90 clubs, 105 locations, training centers, thousands of teams, players, and coaches. The LOVB organization also operates a foundation to increase access to volleyball, sells tickets and merchandise, and produces media/insider content for fans.

📋 Description

• Own various club books across all general ledger accounts in accordance with US GAAP • Oversee and maintain the organization’s accounting operations • Establish, develop, and recommend accounting objectives, policies, and procedures • Identify risks and support audit readiness • Complete timely month-end general ledger closing and prepare related reports and reconciliations • Handle operational accounting, including GL, AP, fixed assets, payroll accruals, intercompany accounting, and consolidation • Build efficiencies through automated systems processes and integrations • Research, analyze, and interpret complex technical accounting issues and new accounting standards • Support annual external audits • Identify process improvements to scale and automate manual procedures • Assist management with special projects and ad hoc analyses • Improve best-practice processes, procedures, and internal controls • Respond to internal and external stakeholder inquiries • Mentor the accounting team • Collaborate with upper management and cross-functional departments on accounting matters

🎯 Requirements

• 5+ years experience in staff accounting role • Bachelor’s in Accounting • Knowledge of US GAAP • Experience with internal controls • Experience with intercompany reconciliations • Experience with GL account reconciliations and work papers • Experience with best practice processes and procedures • Ability to process and review journal entries • Experience with ad hoc financial reporting • Ability to balance strategy and tactical execution • Ability to work in a busy and dynamic environment • Ability to handle competing priorities and think on your feet • Ability to identify when to escalate potential issues and challenges • Excellent communication, collaboration, listening, and organizational skills • Ability to work with FP&A, AP, Payroll, and Club Operations departments • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and collaborate with a distributed remote team • Ability to handle sensitive information confidentially • Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks with minimal guidance • Flexibility and willingness to learn new systems and skills • Preferred: inventory accounting, tax compliance, payroll accounting, and NetSuite experience • Start-up accounting experience preferred • Ability to operate a computer and use keyboard, mouse, and video conferencing tools
