📋 Description

• Work remotely in support of a government contract for a client located in Washington, DC • Develop backend applications or services in Java • Apply cloud concepts and work with GCP • Work with REST APIs and common integration patterns • Integrate AI services for summarization, classification, or extraction • Apply secure engineering fundamentals, including least privilege, secrets handling, encryption, and audit logging • Use Git and modern development workflows • Follow established engineering practices and learn from feedback • Potentially work with Agile, SDLC, change/configuration management, ALM, container, and serverless practices

🎯 Requirements

• US Citizenship is required • An active Public Trust level clearance is required • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is preferred, or equivalent practical experience • Minimum of 1–3 years of experience in software development, including internships, co-ops, or equivalent project experience • Experience developing backend applications or services in Java • Basic understanding of cloud concepts and interest or experience working on GCP • Familiarity with REST APIs, common integration patterns, and basic authentication/authorization concepts • Exposure to AI concepts or AI service integration • Willingness to learn evaluation and monitoring basics • Understanding of secure engineering fundamentals, including least privilege, secrets handling, encryption basics, and audit logging concepts • Familiarity with Git and modern development workflows • Strong problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills • Exposure to Agile methodologies and SDLC practices • Familiarity with change/configuration management tools such as VersionOne or ServiceNow and/or ALM practices • Hands-on exposure to container or serverless concepts, such as Docker, Kubernetes fundamentals, or managed/serverless deployments
