📋 Description

• Provide coverage in short-term, surge, on-demand, summer camp, and backfill situations supporting the MFLC program • Provide adult or Child and Youth Behavioral (CYB) counseling services to military service members and their families at military installations • Deliver non-medical, short-term, solution-focused counseling to adults, children, and youth • Conduct assessments, brief counseling, consultation, action planning, referrals to resources, linkage, and follow-up • Provide consultation to parents, childcare personnel, school staff, youth programs, summer camps, and installation command • Support DoDEA schools, community schools, youth programs, military community and readiness centers, and on-demand assignments as assigned • Work closely with installation and military branch Points of Contact to ensure services remain within scope and meet installation needs • Provide training and health and wellness presentations and participate in health fairs and other installation activities • Enter counselor activity data daily through a smartphone or web application while maintaining service and family member confidentiality and anonymity • Create a visible, approachable, and confidential presence on installations and in child and youth settings • Establish working relationships with community resources and provide appropriate linkages • Partner with Points of Contact to deliver Adult and CYB services addressing installation or facility needs • Manage duty-to-warn and restricted-reporting situations according to DoD protocol and staff cases with Regional Supervisors or Directors • Participate in individual and group supervision and communicate trends and issues to Regional Supervisors • Respond to critical incidents and special requests as directed by the Point of Contact and approved by the OSD program manager • Perform additional duties aligned with the intent of the role as assigned by a leader

🎯 Requirements

• Licensed at the independent level in any state as a Mental Health Counselor, Therapist, or Social Worker • Master’s Degree from an accredited graduate program in a mental health-related field or social work • Willingness to accept assignments with short notice, including weekends, for undefined periods • Ability to cover full-time assignments ranging from a weekend to two weeks • Ability to quickly build rapport with service personnel, family members, students, parents, and co-workers • Adaptability to new working conditions and varying location rules • Ability to work effectively with minimal instruction and guidance • Ability to listen carefully to instructions • Availability for in-services, training, Quality Improvement committees, and other contract activities with minimal notice • Ability to quickly engage and communicate with military members, spouses, or children and respond to emergent situations across military installations and school settings • Ability to traverse short and long distances, maneuver through rugged, outdoor, or uneven locations, and work in outdoor weather and military base conditions • Ability to comply with site-specific requirements, including current immunizations or vaccinations where required • Ability to prove US Citizenship • Fluency in English • Advanced knowledge of brief therapy and solution-focused counseling methods • Prior military service, military family membership, and/or strong familiarity with military culture desired • CYB positions require meeting Magellan MFLC CYB criteria for experience with children and youth and specialty in child and adolescent development/psychology • Current licensure meeting state, Commonwealth, or customer-specific requirements • Must be an independently licensed behavioral health clinician • Valid in-state driver's license
