• Support innovative solutions for community planning, facilities planning, master planning, resilience planning, engagement and facilitation, partnership development, and other planning requirements • Support federal planning requirements with the Department of Defense • May support planning requirements for the National Park Service, FEMA, BLM, and other federal agencies • Support requirements for state and local governments, private entities, and nongovernmental organizations • Execute project requirements using research, analysis, writing, and creative approaches • Support federal project management and/or team leadership activities at the senior level • Engage with clients and develop partnerships • Meet established deadlines for project-based tasks • Travel to charrettes, workshops, meetings, and site visits as needed
• Bachelor’s degree in urban planning, landscape architecture, geography, public policy, or similar fields • Master’s degree is a plus • AICP certification is a strong plus • Other certifications in landscape architecture, LEED, Sustainable Sites, charrette facilitation, GIS, or similar areas are a benefit • Mid-level candidates require 3+ years of relevant experience • Senior-level candidates require 7+ years of relevant experience • Strong knowledge of community planning processes • Exceptional research, analysis, and writing skills • Excellent written, graphic, and verbal communication skills • Self-motivation and ability to work independently in a flexible work environment • Intellectual curiosity, organization, and attention to detail • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Word, Excel, and PowerPoint • Technical skills with Adobe Creative Suite, CAD, GIS, similar software tools, and/or hand renderings are a strong plus • Up to 15% travel required • Eligible to work in the U.S.; completion of DHS Form I-9 and E-Verify verification required • Must submit to a background check as a condition of final employment offer • Must submit to background and credit checks if required to obtain and maintain a secret clearance • Resume and GPA required for consideration • Three professional and/or academic references, unofficial college transcripts, and writing sample eventually required
