📋 Description

• Underwrite complex individual disability income cases end-to-end • Serve as a product and underwriting subject matter expert through field training, industry events, conferences, and ongoing partner education • Deliver competitive underwriting decisions while maintaining profitability and morbidity expectations • Provide service and consultation to agents, brokers, field office staff, and business partners on underwriting and risk matters • Communicate underwriting decisions clearly and effectively • Assess risks, gather relevant information, and make sound decisions in complex or ambiguous situations • Build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders • Influence process enhancements, champion change, and support operational excellence • Mentor and coach less experienced underwriters and provide technical guidance

🎯 Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED • 5+ years of underwriting individual disability insurance • $15K+ approval authority in individual disability insurance underwriting • Bachelor’s degree (ideal qualification) • 7+ years of underwriting individual disability insurance (ideal qualification) • Experience working in a fast-paced environment (ideal qualification) • Approval limits of $20K+ IDI, $50K+ BOE, $750K+ Buy Sell without a second signature (ideal qualification) • Exams completed toward industry designations such as DIA/DIF, AALU/FALU, FMLI, etc. (ideal qualification)
