📋 Description

• Lead a small, high-performing team to design, automate, and continuously evolve a flexible Quality Management System spanning the vehicle platform lifecycle. • Re-architect the QMS and synchronize it with the Safety Management System for Autonomy. • Build closed-loop continuous-improvement processes, including root cause analysis, CAPA-style workflows, trend analysis, and risk analysis. • Establish design-control practices covering design inputs/outputs, verification and validation, design reviews, and traceability. • Automate manual quality processes using AI/ML, LLM-based tooling, and workflow automation, including non-conformance triage, audit documentation, and fleet trend detection. • Partner with autonomy, engineering, fleet operations, and technical support to connect field issues and fleet data to design and engineering decisions. • Define and evolve quality KPIs/OKRs measuring platform health and QMS effectiveness. • Engage suppliers and partners on vehicle-platform quality issues and corrective actions. • Build and grow a quality systems function and promote a culture of quality through improved tools.

🎯 Requirements

• 5+ years building or leading quality systems in a hardware/software engineering environment — automotive, robotics, aerospace, or another safety-critical field. • Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, or a related technical field. • Hands-on experience with design controls, verification & validation, change management, and root cause/CAPA processes. • Demonstrated builder's mindset; experience building, substantially rebuilding, or improving a quality system or process. • Comfort leading improvements to remove manual work from quality processes. • Experience with issue-tracking and workflow tools, e.g., Jira, for traceability across a product lifecycle. • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience presenting to and influencing stakeholders at every level. • Ability to interpret engineering documents, including CAD drawings and wiring diagrams. • Familiarity with ISO/IATF standards. • Knowledge of implementing and maintaining QM systems and conducting internal and external audits/assessments. • Experience in moderation techniques. • Advanced knowledge of FMEA, Configuration Management, and System and Document Management Systems. • Valid U.S. driver's license and ability to pass a driving record check. • Master's degree in engineering, operations, or a quality-related field is desirable. • Startup or fast-scaling company experience is desirable. • Working knowledge of ISO/IATF, ISO 26262, or similar frameworks is desirable. • Hands-on AI/LLM tooling or workflow-automation experience is desirable. • Autonomous vehicle systems or other robotics/safety-critical technology experience is desirable. • ASQ or Lean Six Sigma certification is desirable.
