• Represent Medtronic during surgical procedures by ensuring required equipment and products are available • Provide technical support, device selection, programming, and testing of device systems • Manage patients through all phases of the clinical process and educate them on Medtronic products • Provide clinical support during surgeries, re-programmings, troubleshooting, and follow-ups in hospitals and clinics • Respond to technical inquiries from customers, patients, and colleagues • Maintain working knowledge of competitive products • Educate and train physicians, hospital personnel, and office staff on products and therapies through teaching sessions, in-services, education programs, seminars, and symposia • Assist Management and Sales Training with training new district employees • Complete event reporting and documentation using Medtronic technology tools • Place orders for pending purchase orders and product replacement • Work with materials management to collect purchase orders for covered cases • Manage case-coverage inventory, including transactions, cycle counts, product retrievals, inventory turnover, and expiration/hold controls • Contribute to quarterly district, regional, and national initiative goals • Partner with sales representatives to achieve territory and district business goals • Visit accounts to replenish literature and establish or maintain office-staff relationships • Use Excel, mobile phones, iPads, laptops, and/or Samsung tablets regularly • Manage business expenses and budgets within the required timeframe • Complete therapy training and corporate compliance training • Travel to cover district cases and occasionally cases in other districts • Serve as a field-based clinical resource for Neuromodulation Pain and Target Drug Delivery Therapies
• High School Diploma or GED with a minimum 4 years of clinical or medical sales experience; or Associate Degree with a minimum 2 years of clinical or medical sales experience; or Bachelor’s degree • Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in a health care related field • Preferred: Registered nurse or HCP with experience in a sterile environment • Preferred: Clinical experience with implantable neurological products and patient care • Preferred: Experience servicing medical personnel on product use • Preferred: Experience with a medical device company or pharmaceutical company and clinical experience in neurology, neurosurgery, orthopedics, operating room, pain management, or home health care • Preferred: Understanding of basic reimbursement and healthcare environment • Excellent organizational skills and ability to work under pressure • Required to function using healthcare universal precautions to minimize exposure to infectious disease and radiation • Ability to work weekends, evenings, nights, and travel overnight when required • Ability to work efficiently and autonomously with little direction outside clinical events • Ability to attend national meetings, district meetings, and training as requested • Ability to wear a 7–9 lbs protective lead apron for extended periods in the operating room • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs • Ability to sit, stand, and/or walk for 8+ hours per day • Ability to bend/stoop, squat, and balance frequently • Specific vision abilities: close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus • Must have a valid driver’s license and active vehicle insurance policy; driving record will be reviewed • Must be able to drive approximately 50% of the time within the assigned territory and may require overnight travel • For baccalaureate degrees earned outside the United States, the degree must satisfy 8 C.F.R. § 214.2(h)(4)(iii)(A) • Must possess unrestricted U.S. work authorization at hire and throughout employment; sponsorship is not offered for roles below Principal level
