📋 Description

• Own production performance across PostgreSQL and Microsoft SQL Server • Diagnose and resolve execution plan, indexing, locking, blocking, and query performance issues • Design and operate high availability, replication, failover, and disaster recovery strategies • Lead zero-downtime schema changes and production database migrations • Execute large-scale data migrations and backfills using safe, verifiable processes • Maintain secure database access, encryption, auditing, and governance practices • Build monitoring, alerting, and capacity planning processes • Support reporting, analytics, and warehouse performance • Continuously improve database reliability, safety, and operational excellence

🎯 Requirements

• 8+ years administering production databases • Expert PostgreSQL administration • Expert Microsoft SQL Server administration • Advanced SQL, T-SQL, and PL/pgSQL • Deep experience with execution plan analysis and performance tuning • Proven experience leading zero-downtime production migrations • Strong HA/DR, replication, backup, and recovery expertise • Experience with AWS RDS, Aurora, or equivalent cloud database platforms • Strong security, encryption, auditing, and least-privilege practices • Excellent written communication
