📋 Description

• Install, configure, patch, and upgrade Oracle 19c/21c and Microsoft SQL Server 2016–2022 environments on Windows and Linux • Perform database maintenance including index rebuilds, statistics updates, tablespace management, and DBCC consistency checks • Manage database storage, forecast capacity requirements, and plan physical storage expansion • Design, implement, and maintain backup and recovery strategies using Oracle RMAN and native MS SQL Server utilities • Configure and support Oracle RAC, Oracle Data Guard, SQL Server AlwaysOn Availability Groups, and database mirroring • Conduct documented disaster recovery drills to verify RPO and RTO objectives • Monitor database health and performance with OEM Cloud Control, SSMS, and SQL Server Profiler • Analyze execution plans and optimize SQL, PL/SQL, and T-SQL code • Write automated system scripts and optimize memory, CPU, and I/O utilization across OLTP and OLAP workloads • Implement least-privilege access controls and database security policies • Apply DISA STIGs and security checklists to harden database configurations • Manage encryption at rest and in transit, configure auditing, and remediate vulnerability findings • Collaborate with system administrators, software engineers, and cybersecurity personnel in a secure, high-availability environment

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Database Administration, or a related field; equivalent professional experience may be considered • Minimum of 5+ years of experience as a Database Administrator managing both Oracle and MS SQL Server database environments in an enterprise setting • Proven experience configuring high-availability database solutions, including AlwaysOn, RAC, and Data Guard • Hands-on experience executing database backup, recovery, patching, and version upgrades • Expert proficiency in SQL, T-SQL, and PL/SQL scripting • Strong scripting skills in PowerShell, Bash, or Python • Deep understanding of database security standards, user management, and encryption protocols • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills • Clear verbal and written communication skills • Active DoD 8570.01-M / DoD 8140 Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level II certification or higher, or willingness to obtain • U.S. citizenship • Public Trust or favorably adjudicated Secret Clearance at start • Adherence to government cybersecurity policies, OPSEC requirements, and system access regulations • Preferred: experience migrating databases to AWS RDS or Azure SQL Managed Instance • Preferred: familiarity with database virtualization and Docker/Kubernetes • Preferred: Agile/Scrum and DevSecOps experience • Preferred: PostgreSQL, MySQL, or NoSQL administration experience • Preferred: Oracle OCP or Microsoft Azure Database Administrator Associate (DP-300)/MCSA certification
