📋 Description

• Author domain-authentic materials-science or engineering tasks based on real professional work • Build data rooms and grading criteria that make tasks objectively scorable • Run tasks against AI models, analyze successes and failures, and iterate until tasks discriminate effectively • Collaborate with project leads and other domain experts to define quality standards • Help train and enhance frontier AI systems through human expertise

🎯 Requirements

• Senior expertise in materials science, including metals, ceramics, composites, characterization, or additive manufacturing; or electrical engineering, including analog, RF, or power; or mechanical engineering, including design, CFD and fluids, heat transfer, pressure vessels, NDE, or CAE • Comfortable navigating ambiguity • Able to explain why a wrong answer is wrong, not only identify the right answer • Independent contractor engagement • Must not be an H1-B or STEM OPT candidate, as Mercor cannot support those statuses • Work must not involve access to confidential or proprietary information from any employer, client, or institution
