📋 Description

• Review and analyze documentation in medical records • Assign diagnoses and procedure codes based on physician documentation • Code inpatient, outpatient, and/or professional services • Follow the Standards of Ethical Coding established by the American Health Information Management Association • Adhere to official coding guidelines • Perform data entry using keyboard and mouse

🎯 Requirements

• High school diploma • Prior coding experience in ICD-10-CM diagnoses/procedure coding and HCPCS/CPT procedure coding in an acute care inpatient, outpatient hospital or professional services setting • Working knowledge of ICD-10-CM and CPT/HCPCS coding classification systems in an acute care/hospital setting and/or professional services setting • RHIT, RHIA, CCS, CPC, or CIRCC certification, or completion within 6 months of employment • Frequent repetitive motion involving approximately 25% keyboard and 75% mouse use for data entry • Preferred: A.S. from an accredited Health Information Technology program • Preferred: B.S. from an accredited Health Information Management program • Preferred: Working knowledge of the 3M encoder and the Epic system
