📋 Description

• Perform analysis of healthcare data • Interpret regulations • Build financial models • Write reports explaining technical concepts clearly to non-technical audiences • Manage projects through completion within expected budgets • Supervise actuarial students and less-experienced actuaries on technical aspects of actuarial projects • Develop the ability to manage client relationships • Successfully generate new business with new and existing clients • Collaborate with organizations including insurance companies, health plans, government agencies, healthcare providers, reinsurers, ACOs, health technology firms, and employers

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in mathematics, statistics, economics, or a related field • ASA designation • 7+ years of healthcare actuarial experience • At least 4 years in a consulting or advisory role supporting health plans, state Medicaid agencies, or ACOs • Minimum of 5 years of experience with Value Based Payment arrangements, including shared savings, capitation, and other provider risk arrangements • Minimum of 3 years leading Medicare and/or Medicaid program VBP work, including delegating work to and mentoring junior staff • Experience with current Medicare and Medicaid VBP programs is a plus, including REACH/LEAD, MSSP, AHEAD, TEAM, managed Medicaid, or Medicare Advantage provider risk • Proficiency with Excel • Some knowledge of SAS, SQL, Python, or R • Strong understanding of the US healthcare system • Demonstrable ability to present technical concepts to non-technical audiences • Excellent verbal and written communication • Ability to work independently and in team environments • Ability to adapt existing data sources and methodologies to client problems • Proven ability to work in a fast-paced, client-focused environment • Entrepreneurial spirit • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without current or future immigration support or sponsorship from Milliman
