📋 Description

• Investigate and understand mental health benefits • Contact patients to communicate cost estimate information and counsel them on financial options • Verify in-network and out-of-network eligibility, benefits, and authorization requirements using phone systems, payer portals, or fax • Determine patient liability information including co-payments, co-insurance, deductibles, and out-of-pocket amounts • Understand mental health authorization and referral requirements for scheduled appointments • Update demographic data and inform patients of financial responsibility before appointments • Coordinate with Front Office, Billing, Intake teams, and patients to resolve insurance issues and questions • Correct Patient Financial Clearance Representative errors within the practice management system • Re-verify eligibility, benefits, authorization requirements, and provider network status when existing patients change insurance plans • Contact patients regarding insurance and demographic issues • Problem-solve and prioritize work in a fast-paced, changing environment • Communicate professionally and timely with patients and other teams • Anticipate and respond to patient needs • Perform other tasks assigned by leadership

🎯 Requirements

• Call Center experience strongly preferred • 2+ years of experience in customer service-related field, insurance verification or general health care experience with a strong understanding of insurance benefits • Interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively and diplomatically with patients and staff • Ability to accept and carry out oral instructions accurately and work independently as well as part of a team within an evolving environment • Ability to prioritize work, handle multiple tasks to completion and make decisions on which course to follow for a particular situation • Skill in reading and understanding documents such as training manuals written in English • Skill in speaking clearly and distinctly using appropriate vocabulary and grammar telephone manners to handle phone work with courtesy and tact • Ability to work independently and follow through on assignments with minimal direction and supervision • Skill in employing independent decision-making techniques while performing various job duties • Skill in prioritizing assignments to complete work in a timely accurate manner • Display an aptitude and willingness to learn new responsibilities and adapt to frequently changing procedures • Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel and Word) • Must be based in TX, NC, SC, or FL
