WBENC-certified, the company provides general contracting, design-build, ground-up construction, renovations, tenant improvements, ADA compliance, and 24/7 emergency facility repairs across multiple trades (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, roofing, carpentry, flooring). Modern focuses on delivering projects on time, within budget, and to high quality standards for clients in healthcare, retail, hospitality, education, government, and other commercial sectors.

📋 Description

• Run all daily construction activity on site according to contract drawings, specifications, and project documents • Coordinate subcontractors and trade partners, including orientation, daily scheduling, and performance oversight • Conduct safety orientations and enforce safety protocols • Inspect installations and control quality • Build and maintain the three-week look-ahead schedule • Manage the overall construction schedule and coordinate deliveries, inspections, and milestones • Run punch list, final inspections, and project closeout • Ensure documentation, certifications, and turnover items are complete before handoff • Report to the General Superintendent and communicate with the assigned Project Manager • Log daily progress and document site conditions, RFIs, and issues affecting schedule or cost • Represent Modern Construction Services with clients, architects, and inspectors • Stay on site for the full length of each assignment, with extended stays in project markets

🎯 Requirements

• Five or more years as a superintendent in commercial construction • Track record of running commercial projects independently, from start to finish • Strong command of construction safety standards and subcontractor management • Proficiency in Procore/InGenious and Microsoft Project • Clear communication and strong organization, in writing and in person • Ability and willingness to travel, with extended stays at project sites • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or a related field is a plus; equivalent field experience counts just as much • Familiarity with Avetta, Bolt or Fexa is a plus • Experience running commercial projects across multiple markets and geographies is a plus
