📋 Description

• Understand Monarch's business model, key relationships, product, and history • Understand how Monarch builds, markets, and scales products and how legal gets involved • Familiarize yourself with key regulatory and compliance frameworks • Learn the company's working style, goals, mission, and values • Build relationships with team members • Serve as the legal partner enabling complex commercial deals • Translate complex legal concepts into accessible language • Provide strategic legal guidance to support responsible company growth

🎯 Requirements

• 8+ years of relevant commercial and corporate law experience • Strong preference for experience in-house and negotiating with big players • Admitted to a state bar or eligible to register as in-house counsel • Curiosity about or current use of generative AI tools • Ability to simplify complex legal concepts for different audiences • Ability to use regulatory guidance, professional networks, Slack, journals, books, search tools, and law firms to research answers • Experience with Contract Lifecycle Management tools such as Ironclad or Zip (nice to have) • Experience negotiating with Fortune 500 companies and startups (nice to have) • Experience with privacy, including GLBA and state privacy laws (nice to have)
