📋 Description

• Codes complex diseases, procedures, and diagnoses using the ICD-10-CM/PCS classification systems. • Assumes responsibility for professional development by participating in workshops, conferences and/or in-services. • Completes complex coding assignments for reimbursement, research, and compliance with Federal and State regulations. • Educates/Communicates with providers to ensure optimal clinical documentation. • Coordinates/Communicates with clinical departments to ensure accuracy and timeliness of coding. • Completes special coding projects. • Mentors and assists with training coders.

🎯 Requirements

• 3 Years - experience in coding in an acute care setting. • Must have coding education - Required • Associate's Degree - Health Information Management / Medical Records - Required • Bachelor's Degree - Health Information Management / Medical Records - Required • Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) - Required Upon Hire • Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) - Preferred Upon Hire Or • Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) - Preferred Upon Hire
