📋 Description

• Design and implement public safety solutions for Motorola ASTRO 25 and adjacent technologies for state and local government agencies • Lead technical aspects of assigned projects through system acceptance • Design and implement radio networks, including infrastructure, subscribers, mobile backhaul, WAN, and CEN networks • Conduct customer design reviews, witnessed staging and acceptance testing, coverage acceptance testing, live system upgrades, and troubleshooting • Build, configure, and acceptance-test systems in lab staging and field environments • Perform radio coverage testing, frequency analysis, and interference mitigation • Manage radio system licensing, including FCC/Industry Canada licensing • Prepare system fleetmaps, encryption schemas, and radio programming templates • Execute live system cutovers and upgrades • Complete system documentation • Create design documents and drawings for project teams • Work with Project Managers, Systems Engineers, System Technologists, Construction Managers, Customer Service Managers, customers, consultants, and third-party service professionals • Support multiple concurrent projects and changing priorities • Configure and troubleshoot applications and operating systems on IP network devices, servers, or virtualization platforms • Debug software installations, review log files, and collaborate with development engineers to resolve issues

🎯 Requirements

• Candidate must reside in Pennsylvania • Bachelor’s Degree in an engineering or technical discipline and 3+ years of engineering or technical experience OR 4-7 years of engineering or technical experience • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. indefinitely is required • Employer work permit sponsorship is not available for this position • Radio Frequency Engineering principles • Land / Mobile Radio Engineering principles • Wireless & Wireline communications systems • RFDS principles, including antenna and cable selection, transmit combiners, receive multi-couplers, and lightning protection systems • P25 Land Mobile Radio terminology and two-way subscriber radio provisioning methods • Experience with Motorola ASTRO 25 architecture is a plus • Construction of remote communication sites, including site selection, grounding, compound development, tower and shelter requirements • Fortinet and Juniper firewalls; Nokia 7705 series routers; Juniper SRX/MX (Junos) series routers; HP/Aruba and Juniper switches • Remote access using SSH, SCP, SFTP, RDP • Point-to-point Microwave systems and Microwave RF & Network design • FCC licensing and frequency search • Software applications integration, API concepts, computer operating systems, and the OSI model • Networking protocols and devices including OSPF, ISIS, BGP, MPLS, SIP, RTP, SNMP, NAT, routers, switches, and stateful packet firewalls • Physical layer technologies such as fiber, copper, and microwave connectivity • Familiarity with Microsoft, Google, and other office productivity/drawing software packages • Excellent troubleshooting, critical thinking, analytical, communication, and technical writing skills • Ability to work remotely with no local supervision, lead customer-facing meetings, collaborate with colleagues, customers, and third-party service professionals, and change priorities with little notice • Ability to work on multiple concurrent projects and balance priorities • Ability to learn and use company-supplied software systems and tools for IP network systems, radio coverage modeling, RF components, applications, operating systems, virtualization platforms, software debugging, and log review • GROL, Amateur Radio Operator License, or equivalent experience is desired • CompTIA A+, Network+, or Security+ certifications are desired
