• Plan and direct clinical research activities involving new or marketed medicines in Hematology • Manage the clinical development cycle, including study design, initiation, execution, monitoring, analysis, regulatory reporting, and publication • Evaluate pre-clinical and translational work to generate early clinical development plans and Investigational New Drug applications • Develop clinical development strategies for investigational or marketed Hematology drugs • Plan clinical trials and collaborate on operational plans • Provide medical oversight and manage the conduct of clinical trials • Analyze and summarize clinical findings to support safety, efficacy, applications, clinical study reports, and publications • Participate in internal and joint internal/external research project teams • Support business development assessments of external opportunities • Engage with functional areas to support study execution • Collaborate with commercialization, regulatory affairs, statistics, and manufacturing experts • Inform leadership and relevant personnel about study progress and competitor drugs • Provide expert scientific opinions internally and externally • Maintain scientific knowledge and awareness of developments in Hematology and related fields • Identify and communicate with clinical investigators • Attend scientific meetings • Author development documents, presentations, budgets, and position papers • Facilitate collaborations with external researchers around the world • Travel on company business to manage clinical research projects
• M.D. or M.D./Ph.D. • Experience in industry or as senior faculty in academia • Minimum of 3 years of clinical medicine experience • Minimum of 3 years of industry experience in drug development or biomedical research experience in academia • Demonstrated success in overseeing clinical studies and protocols • Demonstrated record of scientific scholarship and achievement • Proven track record in clinical medicine and background in biomedical research • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to function in a team environment • Outstanding verbal and written communication and presentation skills • Required skills: Clinical Development, Clinical Medicine, Clinical Pathways, Clinical Research Management, Clinical Trial Development, Data Analysis, Ethical Standards, Hematology, Intellectual Curiosity, Oncology, Pathology, Regulatory Affairs Compliance, Regulatory Reporting, Scientific Consulting, Strategic Planning • US and Puerto Rico residents only • No visa sponsorship • Must be available for approximately 25% travel
