📋 Description

• Monitor progress of foreclosures through queues and reporting, ensuring portfolios are worked effectively and comply with state/federal and investor guidelines • Work with foreclosure attorneys, outside counsel, and/or in-house counsel to resolve disputes involving properties in which the bank or investors have an interest • Serve as primary escalation contact for team associates, attorneys, and other departments • Ensure FHA 1st legal deadlines are met and track necessary extension requests • Research, validate, and update loans on foreclosure exception reports, including No Dual Track, cleanup, and investor timeline reports • Approve additional attorney fees beyond associate approval limits and track/report legal expenses on litigation files outside the foreclosure action • Perform quality-control review and approve investor bidding instructions • Conduct regular side-by-sides, review assigned loans at least every 30 days, update documentation, and follow up • Ensure compliance with federal, state, regulatory, and investor foreclosure guidelines • Revise, update, and implement procedures; create new procedures; gather information and assemble presentations for investor, regulatory, and internal meetings • Maintain operational risk controls, internal control standards, and timely implementation of audit and regulatory findings • Promote an environment supporting belonging and reflecting the M&T Bank brand • Complete other related duties as assigned

🎯 Requirements

• A combined 4 years’ higher education and/or work experience, including a minimum of 2 years’ Default Servicing related field experience (e.g., Collections, REO, Loss Mitigation) • Working knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet software • Strong written and verbal communication skills • Detail oriented • Strong analytical and problem solving skills • Ability to work effectively in a team environment • Preferred: 3 years’ Default Servicing related field experience (e.g., Collections, REO, Loss Mitigation) • Preferred: Proven leadership ability • Preferred: Knowledge of bank and departmental systems • Preferred: Understanding of mortgage product including home equity loans and lines of credit, general operation and systemic functions including payment allocation and escrow • Preferred: Experience training new staff and implementing procedures and process changes
