📋 Description

• Listen to recorded dictation from physicians and other healthcare professionals • Use specialized transcription equipment such as headsets and foot pedals • Edit and correct medical dictation performed by speech recognition software • Convert transcribed diagnostic test results, procedures, and consultation notes into applicable report formats • Transcribe quickly and accurately and perform thorough editing to support patient care • Type full forms of medical abbreviations, acronyms, and medical jargon • Identify and follow up on inconsistencies, errors, and missing information in transcribed reports • Submit transcriptions to healthcare professionals for timely approval • Follow up on and revise patient histories • Enter medical reports into electronic health records • Protect patient confidentiality and adhere to legal requirements

🎯 Requirements

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills • Excellent interpersonal skills • Excellent organizational skills • Detail-oriented • Professionalism at all times • Maintain training/continuing education requirements • Ability to function in a fast-paced work environment with expectations for fast and responsive answers/solutions/actions • Adhere to company policies, procedures, and safety guidelines • Proficiency in Electronic Health Record systems • Ability to transcribe accurately and maintain a minimum typing speed of 65 words per minute • In-depth knowledge of medical terminology and jargon, as well as editing practice • Reliable transportation • Ability to sit, squat, bend, and twist frequently • High School Diploma required • 10+ years of experience as a medical transcriptionist, or similar • Dental experience preferred • Experience with specialized transcription equipment and voice recognition software • Valid Driver's License
