• Lead FieldKit’s hardware and software product development alongside in-field partner projects • Manage feature prioritization, product roadmaps, and kanban boards across hardware, firmware, mobile app, online data portal, FieldKit.org, and printed collateral • Guide products through design, prototyping, development, and release phases • Manage stakeholders and facilitate feature-prioritization input from executive leadership and customer support • Create partner project scopes of work, schedules, estimates, tasks, deliverables, assumptions, and dependencies • Develop project plans, identify resource requirements, manage risk, track progress, and course-correct • Lead project teams and establish roles, workflows, and approval processes • Build partner relationships, manage expectations, and flag issues • Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to agreed quality • Support grant reporting and documentation • Occasionally manage hardware production, internal projects, contractors, consultants, onsite installations, field deployments, internal protocols, training, resourcing discussions, contracts, grant fundraising, communications, sales, and operations • Report to the Chief Operating Officer
• 4+ years proven experience managing software product development • 4+ years proven experience managing projects • Excellent time management and prioritization skills with an eye for detail • Excellent communication skills, both direct and empathetic • Comfortable working alongside a remote team across multiple time zones • Skilled at listening and quickly synthesizing information into key requirements and actions • Ability to identify scope, schedule, and budget implications by asking pertinent subject matter or technical questions • Proficient in Google Suite, Monday.com, GitLab, Jira, Trello, and Smartsheet • Familiarity with design software such as Sketch and Adobe Creative Suite • Passion for environmental conservation, open technology, or community empowerment • Preferred: Experience managing electrical and mechanical hardware design, development, and production • Preferred: Experience working on multi-platform products and projects • Preferred: Experience working on grant-funded projects • Preferred: Experience with in-field or onsite installation unpredictability
