📋 Description

• Own AR, revenue, and deferred revenue reconciliations end-to-end • Prepare and issue customer and partner billings and monitor collections • Support month-end close with journal entries, close checklists, and coordination with the Accountant • Perform balance sheet account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies • Review and confirm sales and use tax calculations and filings through Avalara • Support annual budget and rolling forecast cycles using Vena • Prepare monthly budget variance analyses • Maintain and update PowerBI financial dashboards • Build and maintain ad hoc financial models for strategic decisions, scenario planning, and investment analysis • Lead partisan electioneering spend analysis for compliance reporting • Maintain grant expense tracking schedules and prepare financial portions of grant reports • Support audit schedules, auditor inquiries, 990 and tax filing preparation • Ensure accurate payroll allocations and maintain data integrity between TriNet, Vena, and Intacct • Maintain data integrity across Sage Intacct, Vena, Bill.com, and PowerBI • Improve recurring financial processes, reporting workflows, and reconciliation templates • Maintain organized, auditable records in accordance with internal controls and nonprofit accounting standards • Work closely with the Director of Finance & Accounting as an individual contributor without people management responsibility

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience • 5–7 years of progressive finance or accounting experience with independent ownership of FP&A processes and accounting operations • Solid understanding of GAAP and nonprofit accounting fundamentals • Strong proficiency in Excel or Google Sheets, including financial modeling and complex reconciliation work • Experience with ERP systems, preferably Sage Intacct, and financial planning tools such as Vena • Strong analytical skills and high attention to detail • Ability to manage multiple deliverables across competing deadlines • Effective communication and ability to present financial information clearly to non-finance colleagues • Comfort working independently and taking ownership of processes without close supervision • Nice to have: nonprofit organization experience, grant accounting, restricted fund tracking, and 501(c)(3)/(c)(4) structures • Nice to have: sales tax compliance and revenue recognition experience • Nice to have: PowerBI or comparable data visualization experience • Nice to have: payroll systems, PEOs, and allocation methodologies such as TriNet • Nice to have: external audit support experience • Nice to have: accounting or FP&A process and control improvement experience
