• Coordinate with the Division Funding Director, Funding Manager, Funding Supervisor, Branch Manager, Rehabilitation Technology Supplier, and office support personnel • Review orders thoroughly for accuracy and educate Funding Specialists when errors are identified • Maintain knowledge of durable medical equipment, company policies, procedures, and insurance guidelines • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures • Manage transaction cycle time from Coding and Pricing Complete to Documentation Complete • Support Funding Specialists during PTO, leave, open positions, and other identified needs • Communicate with referral sources, physicians, therapists, RTSs, clients, and internal and external customers • Request, gather, review, and verify funding documentation and insurance coverage • Communicate benefits, coverage information, financial responsibility, and hardship-process guidance to clients • Manage funding-related relationships and communications • Follow document-collection escalation policies • Coordinate with other funding areas and complete Funding Action Required tasks • Investigate payer documentation requirements and resolve funding-process issues • Complete additional funding tasks, including Coding and Pricing, Submissions, Authorization collection, PPQA, and Delivery Verifications • Provide direction, instructions, and guidance to staff • Document best practices, identify training opportunities, and coordinate process improvements • Facilitate problem solving and collaboration • Motivate team members and recognize accomplishments • Assist with customer complaints, billing concerns, and payer correspondence • Support performance monitoring and evaluation • Communicate team status, task accomplishment, and direction to management • Perform routine audits to identify coaching opportunities and maintain high staff performance • Assist branches with temporary processing needs and new business acquisitions • Perform other related duties and special assignments
• Minimum of 3 years of experience related to Durable Medical Equipment and/or Complex Rehab Technology • Preferred experience in all aspects of a Funding Specialist’s position, including processing Repairs and Non-Repairs • Extensive knowledge of funding processes and insurance guidelines for Durable Medical Equipment and/or Complex Rehab Technology • Comprehensive knowledge of insurance verification for DME • Experience with applications such as Mobility Advisor or data management systems • Excellent people skills, communication, and interpersonal skills • Strong leadership skills • Strong team-player abilities • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail • Customer-service driven • Excellent computer and technology skills • Knowledge of Microsoft Office, Outlook, and PowerPoint • Experience with Excel spreadsheets and formulas and Outlook email • Ability to manage and develop others remotely • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret business reports, technical procedures, work instructions, and governmental regulations • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and training materials • Ability to present information and respond to questions from varied staff • Basic understanding of and willingness to learn and adopt professional and industry standards
