📋 Description

• Perform and manage detailed electrical studies primarily for utility clients supporting substation design projects • Coach and mentor team members and support their professional development and career goals • Conduct review and QA/QC for electrical studies supporting design teams • Provide regulatory compliance services across project design phases from conceptual design through project testing and commissioning • Establish study templates, methodologies, and best practices for electrical system studies • Serve as subject matter expert for study software questions and troubleshooting • Check or perform detailed design of electrical power systems, including diagrams, control and relaying schematics, wiring, SCADA, conduit and cable sizing/routing, grounding, equipment specifications, cost estimates, and scheduling • Prepare project documents and reports, including proposals, cost estimates, and budget reports • Assist with client contacts, communications, and meetings • Occasionally assist with equipment, control system, communications, troubleshooting, relay field testing, startup, and commissioning • Maintain knowledge and application of applicable codes and standards • Maintain strong company-client relationships and high ethical and professional standards • Attend conferences, training workshops, seminars, and classes as appropriate or required • Attend safety training and follow safety rules and guidelines • Shape the future direction of NEI’s System Studies practice and influence technical standards • Mentor and develop high-performing engineers and drive innovation in power system analysis methodologies

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology from an accredited institution; electric power option preferred • 5+ years of relevant engineering or field experience • FE is required; PE is preferred • Knowledge and familiarity with medium and low voltage distribution, switchgear, motor control centers, and industrial instrumentation and controls • Experience with one or more industry-standard power system analysis software packages, including PowerFactory, ETAP, SKM Power Tools, Easypower, Aspen, Windmil, CAPE, CDEGS, WinIGS, PSSe, PSLF, Cymcap, or PSCAD • Effective written and oral communication skills • Good interpersonal and people skills • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis • Must be able to lift 25lbs.
