📋 Description

• Define and own core metrics for infrastructure cost, usage, and efficiency across compute, storage, streaming, and machine learning platforms • Pioneer methods to measure the productivity impact of AI tooling and autonomous agents • Increase the speed and quality of efficiency analysis by turning slow, manual analysis into trusted, reusable insight • Identify and size efficiency opportunities and translate cost and usage patterns into savings recommendations • Build dashboards, reports, and data narratives for engineers and senior executives • Partner with Visualization Engineers on dashboards and reporting surfaces • Partner with Data Engineers on upstream data pipelines • Partner with Data Scientists on forecasting and reliability work • Develop metric frameworks, targets, datasets, business logic, pipelines, analyses, and recommendations for Netflix infrastructure investment decisions

🎯 Requirements

• Experience in metric research and development in a technical domain • Ability to build metric frameworks at multiple granularities that form a coherent whole and establish trusted targets • Self-sufficiency across data exploration, cleaning, light pipeline building, business logic, and dashboards • Fluency in Python and SQL • Ability to work effectively with messy, changing data and assess data quality • Exceptional communication with technical and non-technical audiences • Experience telling stories with data and influencing decisions at all business levels • Strong product thinking and product sense • Comfort with ambiguity and minimal oversight/process • Thoughtful use of AI, coding agents, and analytics agents, including evaluating their output • Experience measuring cost, efficiency, or system performance in a cloud or streaming context is a plus, or motivation to develop deep expertise in that domain
