📋 Description

• Build product-facing features that impact acquisition and retention • Partner with product managers, designers, and data scientists to build commerce experiences that drive growth • Evolve infrastructure to support Netflix's expanding commerce surface, including Ads, Games, and Live Streaming • Address distributed systems challenges including race conditions, consistency guarantees, and throughput optimization • Participate in the on-call rotation for Tier 0 services • Own production reliability end-to-end • Lead complex engineering projects from inception to delivery • Proactively improve critical systems

🎯 Requirements

• 10+ years of experience building resilient, high-scale, low-latency distributed systems in production • Platform mindset and ability to translate vague business directives into clear, scalable, and maintainable technical solutions • Experience with race conditions, eventual consistency, and distributed transactions • Experience leading complex engineering projects from inception to delivery • Ability to communicate complex technical trade-offs clearly to non-engineering partners • Working experience with Java, Kotlin, C#, Scala, ElasticSearch, Kafka, Hive, or AWS • Experience with Presto and/or Spark SQL, Apache Flink • Proficiency with gRPC, GraphQL, or RESTful API design and implementation • Experience with SQL and NoSQL multi-region data stores such as Cassandra, Amazon Aurora, and Memcached • Comfortable with production on-call responsibilities and incident response for Tier 0 services • Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science or a related field (nice to have)
