📋 Description

• Address automated alerts, failures, incidents and client requests as they come in • Communicate clearly and efficiently with clients • Document and detail work performed in tasks • Serve as an individual contributor on the DBA team • Improve service through automation and process improvement • Support teammates in achieving team goals • Continuously improve knowledge of data technologies • Install, configure, patch and migrate Microsoft SQL Server instances • Design, implement, troubleshoot and fix SQL Server HA/DR topologies, including log shipping, replication, AlwaysOn availability groups and failover clustering • Facilitate client brainstorming meetings to review, analyze and assess business systems and needs • Handle database backup and recovery, access security and integrity, physical data storage design and administration • Manage database security and auditing • Create, change and improve SQL Server Agent tasks and maintenance plans • Monitor SQL Server maintenance tasks and troubleshoot failed processes • Write and optimize TSQL • Create reports, monitoring and alerts to support clients • Troubleshoot and resolve server, database and query performance issues and application sluggishness • Address anti-best practices in database design • Handle VLDBs, database partitioning and data compression • Implement Resource Governor, CDC and Distributed Availability Groups • Report to the Associate Director of Database

🎯 Requirements

• 8+ years of MS SQL Server experience • Good to have PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Azure SQL DB, AWS RDS administration experience • Extensive experience in designing, implementing, troubleshooting and fixing various HA/DR topologies with special focus on Transactional Replication and AlwaysOn Availability groups • Extensive experience in handling server, DB and query performance issues • Hands-on experience writing and optimizing TSQL • Related formal database education or DBA certification • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills • Strong understanding of database platforms in an enterprise infrastructure with the ability to utilize database administration tools • Industry certifications (MCSA, MCSE, DP-300) advantageous • Ability to meet stringent deadlines and handle multiple tasks • Familiar with Change Management and ITIL processes • Ability to provide timely and informative follow-up to end-users • Ability to efficiently prioritize and organize competing work demands with little oversight
