📋 Description

• Administer and maintain database systems supporting AAO applications • Help modernize and transform enterprise business solutions for NASA • Work across Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL, and MySQL platforms • Install, configure, upgrade, migrate, provision, secure, patch, back up, and recover enterprise database systems • Support mission-critical database management systems • Apply database design, development, integration, administration, and ANSI SQL principles • Understand and support high-availability and disaster-recovery database architectures • Troubleshoot and resolve complex database problems with other DBAs • Engage with Enterprise Applications stakeholders and end-user communities • Respond to trouble tickets within SLA requirements and participate in the on-call DBA rotation

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree and 6+ years of experience; equivalent experience accepted in lieu of degree • 6–8 years of Database Administrator experience • Automation using Microsoft PowerShell, VBScript, or batch files • Experience working in VMware ESXi environments • Experience with network storage (SAN/NAS) • Experience with enterprise backup solutions • Experience configuring and supporting MS SQL Availability Groups (AGs), Distributed Availability Groups (DAGs), Oracle Data Guard, and MySQL master-slave replication • Demonstrated experience using Oracle SQL, PL/SQL, and MS T-SQL • Knowledge of configuring Oracle Net Services • Familiarity and/or experience with Oracle RMAN, DataPump, and Data Guard • Experience with Red Hat Linux and Microsoft Windows operating systems on VMware • Understanding of database consolidation and virtualization concepts and best practices • Must be able to obtain and maintain a NASA Public Trust background investigation • Experience with Oracle, MS SQL Server, MySQL, or PostgreSQL databases is preferred • Experience with client tools such as Oracle SQL Developer, TOAD, MS SQL Workbench, SQL Server Management Studio, SSRS, and OEM is a plus • Experience in client/server application design and development is a plus • Strong communication, presentation, documentation, organizational, analytical, problem-solving, interpersonal, and teamwork skills • Schedule flexibility for on-call DBA rotation and SLA-driven ticket response
