• Provide advanced environmental support, including due diligence, permitting, regulatory interpretation and compliance, and agency interface • Support corporate development opportunities in the Central Region • Manage environmental issues, licensing and permitting processes, legislative development, and related activities • Support environmental due diligence, siting, and acquisition of environmental approvals and permits for energy development, mergers and acquisitions, financings, and asset divestitures • Serve as subject matter expert on complex environmental matters and provide technical support for compliance • Maintain current knowledge of environmental policies and regulations • Interface with internal and external customers, subject matter experts, stakeholders, and regulatory agencies • Assess and communicate environmental risk • Oversee aquatic, biological, and cultural resource consultants, studies, and technical reports • Provide guidance on alternatives to minimize environmental impacts • Plan and manage project budgets and schedules • Translate regulatory authorities into actionable tasks • Negotiate with federal, state, and local regulatory agencies • Develop and manage vendor contracts, purchase orders, and invoices • Assist with strategy development and communicate environmental requirements to management • Review, monitor, and comment on emerging environmental legislation and regulations • Travel and work extended hours when applicable
• Bachelor's degree in Science • Bachelor’s Degree • 10 years of experience, including at least 7 years of permitting renewable projects • 6+ years of experience • Knowledge of applicable environmental regulations • Experience with permitting, including NEPA, utility siting, endangered species, and Waters of the U.S. • Experience in environmental due diligence, risk mitigation, and project management • Ability to lead projects and consultants with limited direction • Knowledge of environmental laws, regulations, and permit conditions • Ability to interface with regulatory agencies and stakeholders • Willingness to travel and work extended hours when applicable • Preferred: Master’s degree • Effective written and verbal communications • Environmental negotiations • Environmental science and engineering • Environmental issues/compliance • Performance consulting
