📋 Description

• Assign appropriate ICD-10-CM and CPT-4 codes to outpatient visit types • Assign Evaluation and Management codes for physician encounters • Thoroughly review medical records and documentation to code diagnoses, procedures, and evaluation and management services • Collaborate with Patient Accounting, Registration, case managers, and clinical areas on coding reimbursement expertise • Interpret health record documentation to report appropriate diagnoses and procedures • Resolve NCCI, NCD/LCD, and other outpatient edit claim failures • Meet established coding productivity and quality standards • Perform other duties as assigned

🎯 Requirements

• 3 years of experience in an acute healthcare setting • RHIT, RHIA, CCS, CCS-P, COC, or CPC certification • AHIMA or AAPC membership • Expertise in ICD-10-CM diagnosis coding • Expertise with HCPC Level I and II procedural codes • Knowledge of NCD/LCD and NCCI edits • Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, clinical disease process, pharmacology, and medical terminology • Knowledge of ICD-10-CM Official Guidelines for Coding and Reporting, Coding Clinic, Coding Clinic for HCPCs, CPT Assistant, coding conventions, and instructional notes • Minimum 95% coding accuracy • Must reside in Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Wisconsin, or Missouri • Part-time availability of 20 hours per week
