• Lead and direct Donor Services Workup staff to safely and timely process selected donors through qualification, collection, and recovery • Proactively identify ways for team members to collaborate across functions, departments, and groups and remove service barriers • Establish performance expectations and coach staff to drive high performance • Hire, train, supervise, mentor, and evaluate Workup staff • Lead day-to-day donor management operations and distribute workloads among assigned staff • Drive goal achievement initiatives using weekly and monthly performance monitoring • Support employee learning and development through coaching, feedback, and performance evaluations • Troubleshoot donor and vendor-partner issues and intervene to facilitate positive outcomes • Lead customer service for donors and external stakeholders • Manage, monitor, and routinely evaluate performance data and reports • Identify standardization and efficiency opportunities and support change control • Administer performance recognition and employee engagement initiatives • Develop agendas and conduct routine team and individual meetings • Create and promote quality assurance and optimum performance culture • Implement continuous improvement strategies for donors, Case Management, Transplant Centers, and other stakeholders • Advise and support Donor Quality activities, including call coaching, file review, and competency assessments • Analyze and modify donor processes to identify operational efficiencies • Maintain operational understanding of business software and work with upgrades • Resolve operational, clinical, and technical donor-management issues • Write, review, or provide input to NMDP SOPs as requested • Ensure employee and team regulatory compliance and participate in internal and external audits • Serve as a resource to the Director, Senior Manager, and Manager • Participate in cross-functional teams, project ideation, and facilitation • Provide input on budgets and staffing forecasts • Identify business opportunities and strengthen relationships with vendors and partners, including apheresis/collection centers, phlebotomy, filgrastim, and third-party physical examination providers • Perform duties in compliance with SOPs, NMDP standards, CFR, FDA guidance, OSHA guidelines, and applicable laws • Perform other duties as assigned
• Bachelor’s degree in a health-related field; equivalent related experience and/or education may be substituted upon evaluation • 3–5 years of leadership experience, including a minimum of 3 years leading a team in a donor center, hospital, blood center, or clinical setting • Three years’ experience in another relevant NMDP position may be substituted • Experience managing organizational operations, business processes and procedures, or an organization’s work on behalf of a larger program • Knowledge of project management principles and budget administration • Skill in guiding and providing constructive feedback to professionals • Team building, mentoring, and coaching skills • Ability to lead and manage high-performing teams • Business management experience, including implementing quality systems, records management, and organizational efficiency • Change management and leadership experience in a fast-paced environment • Intermediate computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Internet use • Advanced oral and written communication skills • Proven public speaking or presentation skills • Excellent customer service skills • Availability for occasional overnight/out-of-town travel • Flexibility to work outside core business hours, including evenings, weekends, and some holidays • Experience working in a regulated environment strongly preferred • Combination of demonstrated program leadership and people leadership preferred
