📋 Description

• Manage monthly and quarterly close processes, including reconciliations and journal entries • Prepare financial statements and funder-specific reports • Track restricted funding and grant allocations • Review transactional data, including payroll and accounts payable • Manage annual audit, 990, and 1099 preparation • Assist with annual budgeting • Collaborate with team members to strengthen systems and procedures and address issues • Communicate with clients via video, email, and phone • Address general accounting requests

🎯 Requirements

• Holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance • At least four years of experience with nonprofit accounting • Ability to manage monthly financial operations for multiple clients, including reconciliations, budgeting, and reporting • Clear and respectful written and verbal communication • Highly organized, self-motivated, and responsive in a fully remote environment • Systems-minded and proactive about improving processes and catching errors • Comfortable with Excel and nonprofit accounting software • Open to learning new platforms; the team uses MIP Fund Accounting • Understanding of funder requirements and restricted funding • Interest in rigorous, human-centered financial work
