📋 Description

• Own Notabene’s first external financial statement audit for fiscal years ending January 2026 and January 2027 • Run the audit readiness assessment, build the remediation plan, contribute the technical view on firm selection, and own the day-to-day auditor relationship • Own monthly, quarterly, and annual close across Notabene Inc. and Notabene GmbH • Produce GAAP financial statements, consolidations, intercompany eliminations, and FX translation under ASC 830 • Write technical accounting positions and memos covering ASC 606, ASC 350-40, ASC 718, and emerging stablecoin payment revenue issues • Own Tabs as the billing and revenue system of record, including contract configuration, usage data integrity, and the bridge from Tabs to the general ledger • Build payroll allocation methods and a software development capitalization policy • Design and implement controls over revenue, cash, procure to pay, and payroll • Evaluate the accounting stack and automate rule-bound, high-volume processes such as categorization, reconciliation matching, usage validation, and collections follow-up • Own AR and collections with a direct report, plus AP and payroll accounting • Own US tax compliance with external advisers, including income tax provision and sales tax • Coordinate Swiss compliance with local accountants • Own checklists, policies, and reconciliations for external accounting providers • Report to the VP of Finance and manage one direct report plus external providers • Raise accounting policy, documentation, systems, and automation standards as the business grows

🎯 Requirements

• Experience as a Controller, Assistant Controller, or Senior Accounting Manager at a venture-backed company • Track record of raising the standard on process rather than just running what exists • Experience taking a company through a first external audit, including specifically describing what broke and what was done about it • Month-end close ownership across two or more legal entities in different currencies • Deep, hands-on ASC 606 experience applied to at least one revenue model without clean precedent and defended to an auditor • Detail-oriented accounting execution, including building the calendar, performing reconciliations, and working directly with the ledger • Experience developing a small team or a single direct report • Active CPA license preferred • Usage-based or consumption billing experience, particularly Tabs, Metronome, Maxio, or similar preferred • Public accounting background, especially audit, preferred • Software development capitalization under ASC 350-40, including auditable time capture, preferred • Experience replacing manual accounting work with automation and a clear view on what should stay manual, preferred • Swiss entity experience, including CHF functional currency and Swiss statutory or VAT exposure, preferred • Digital assets, payments, or regulated financial services exposure preferred
