• Elevate the Customer Engagement organization and guide the regional team to exceed organizational goals • Develop and implement the Regional Customer Engagement Strategy • Collaborate with Marketing, Medical, Patient Services and Market Access partners • Oversee and communicate key performance indicators, address underperformance and replicate regional and national successes • Build diverse teams through talent acquisition, development and succession planning • Deliver regional sales targets and establish team accountability through KPI supervision • Create, execute and oversee a customer-needs-focused regional business plan • Enhance customer experience and increase product demand among healthcare providers, key accounts and Systems of Care • Contribute to the national leadership team by improving regional capabilities, business performance, team growth and organizational culture • Ensure team activities comply with the Novartis Code of Ethics, NPC Code of Ethics and applicable policies • Promote regional budget allocation and optimize strategic face-to-face and omnichannel resources • Support team development plans, growth and performance improvement • Use analytics platforms to guide decisions and identify risks and opportunities
• Bachelor’s degree required from a 4-year college or university • 10+ years’ experience in diverse commercial pharmaceutical, biotech, healthcare or similarly structured industries with large, geographically dispersed sales teams • 5+ years’ experience as a first-line sales manager • Demonstrated success driving sales performance, leading cross-functional teams and executing strategy in matrixed, multi-regional environments • Proven ability to attract, develop and retain diverse talent and build dedicated teams • Experience building and completing business and incentive plans in sophisticated sales environments • Operational skills, financial and business acumen, and strategic and analytical thinking • Candidate must reside within the region or within reasonable commuting distance to and from a metropolitan airport • Ability to travel 60–80% over a broad geography and drive and/or fly within the territory • Must have a valid, fully valid and unrestricted driver’s license • Proven leadership as a second-line sales manager is desirable • Cross-functional experience in market access, reimbursement or account management, and understanding of payer landscapes, buy and bill and specialty pharmacy are desirable • Must successfully complete initial training, including home study, of up to 8 hours per day and up to 40 hours per week • Company will not sponsor visas for this position
